At BearHeart Newfoundlands LLC, our puppies are raised with our family on our ten acre property at the base of the Mesa Verde mountains in Cortez, Colorado. We work with our puppies every day to ensure that they get plenty of exercise and plenty of socialization. We want them to be ready when it is time for them to go to their permanent homes. We feed our dogs Victor Elite Canine Super Premium Dog food for all life stages for active dogs and puppies which is a five star rating through Dog Food Advisory. Quality nutrition is very important for the sweet tempered gentle giant dogs. We recommend www.dogfoodadvisor.com when choosing a food for your puppy. Our adult dogs are OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) tested. Our goal is to produce happy and healthy puppies for our customers. Because the first two years of the Newfoundland puppy's life is so crucial in development, we require the use of NuVet vitamins as a supplement. We test for the known genetic defects of the Newfoundland breed through diagnostic testing to ensure that we produce the healthiest puppies possible. At BearHeart Newfoundlands we start with the basics in training such as "sit", "stay", and walking with a leash. We also work with Mountain West Newfoundlands. Mountain West Newfoundlands is owned by Lucio Oliva from Utah. We whelp and co own some of the puppies from Mountain West Newfoundlands.

Abel is the cutest sweetest little puppy you have ever met. The first night here he started sleeping with me with no crying and no fussing. He has been fairly easy to start potty training and we have already been working on sit stay and come with the training treats. He is very intelligent and eager to learn. I love him so much and I look forward to a long relationship. My husband and I were very impressed with the professionalism of the breeder and how nice an experience we had purchasing our new newfie puppy from Bearheart Newfoundlands. We were handed an organized folder of our puppy's vaccinations, wormings, etc. Our vet here in Longmont CO was very impressed as well. We were sent home with all kinds of supplies and toys for the puppy as well. Penelope is a sweet girl, and settled in to her new surroundings quickly. She is our 5th newfoundland, and would highly recommend this breeder!

We loved working with Sheila on getting our precious little girl! We were extremely picky about getting our little pup from an educated breeder than took a Newfie's health as a priority and made sure she had all certifications for a healthy body. We also wanted to make sure the puppy came from a family that actually cares about their dogs and came from a social, friendly, and safe environment, Sheila texted back and forth with us for what felt like weeks and answered every single question we had and provided all necessary paperwork when we asked for it. We are from Chicago and wanted this particular little pup, all the way in Colorado. Our little girl is just the sweetest thing ever and loves other dogs and people. She already is taking to swimming and training VERY quickly. Thank you so much Sheila for giving us the sweetest angel we could have ever have hoped for.
